In a nutshell

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, I’ve spent over a decade traveling, living, and working all over the
world.

I’m a first-generation Indian-American woman. As the child of two immigrant parents, I
have spent time understanding the construct of identity as it relates to self-acceptance, self-
worth, and self-actualization. These themes are not only core to the self, but also integral parts
of our interpersonal relationships - partners, children, friends, and communities.

I completed a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Dayton and am in the process of
completing an M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Sofia University. In between I have spent time
in a variety of professional environments from large corporations to start ups; product
development to sales and marketing; as well as co-founding two companies of my own.

My choice to become a therapist is based on my personal experience with therapy as well as my
belief that everyone has the potential to uncover and enjoy their authentic selves.

My style and personality

I have been an endurance coach, group fitness instructor and personal trainer for over fifteen years. I have helped countless clients achieve their objectives, not only through exercise, but more importantly through self-awareness, mindset, and commitment. Therapy differs in its practical application, but shares some similarities in moving out of fear, and into love and trust. As a therapist, it’s my goal to create a safe place for you to show up honestly, with vulnerability, and with the potential for great transformation. I aim to work with clients in a very open, direct, and collaborative manner. You have the unique wisdom required for your success, it’s up to us to tap into that, expand and integrate it into your current and future life.

Outside of the office

I’m an avid endurance triathlete, retired from competition, but still very involved in coaching. I
work with individuals and group courses to inspire people to integrate movement into their
mindset and daily routines. I am a new podcaster focused on sharing stories of individuals about
sex and STI’s. I’m an advocate to de-stigmatize the way we talk and learn about sex and hope
to improve sexual health and wellness through education and communication. In my free time
you can also find me practicing Aikido – the martial art of harmony.

Candida's tip for for improving unhealthy relationships:

We aren’t attracted to someone because they’re compatible, or “the one.” We are attracted to
them because they are familiar and represent the ways in which we are used to giving and
receiving love. Improving relationships relies on our ability to expose our primary beliefs about
love in our partners and heal them together in relationship.
